 In combination with the BadgeMaker software, the BMEntry software or Visipass software, ScreenCheck offers several hardware solutions to capture images. For capturing images with a video camera in combination with a grabber card, ScreenCheck offers the CamGrabber DirectX as the most popular solution. If you already have a ScreenCheck DirectX grabber card; you can use this in combination with BadgeMaker by installing the ScreenCheck DirectX twain driver.
This driver has built in software control for the ScreenCheck CCD161-SC camera and also for the earlier models sold by ScreenCheck. Since these models are no longer available, this manual will focus on the CCD161-SC. Other video cameras that deliver a composite video signal or S-VHS video signal can also be used, but you will not get the advantage of the software control for the camera in that case. In the following chapters you will find a description of the DirectX twain driver used in combination with the CCD161-SC camera.
